Eligibility

The Guest House is primarily meant to accommodate:

  • Members of Selection Committees, Boards of Studies, Examiners, Experts for viva-voce for M. Phil/ Ph.D. and other classes.
  • Retired teachers, former students visiting Lucknow.
  • Faculty members/staff members of all Institutions recognized by University of Lucknow.
  • Participants to Seminars / Workshops / Symposia / Conferences/Training Programmes organized by the University Departments.
  • Official Guests of UGC. For this, the request should come from the U.G.C.
  • Any other person not covered in the categories mentioned above and permitted by the Controlling Officers/ In-charge Guest House
    • i) The allotment of rooms shall be strictly in the order of preferences mentioned above
    • ii) All allotments covered under category and those who come to the University on official business and are entitled to receive TA/DA from the University of Lucknow as also those declared by the Vice-Chancellor as official guests and shall be charged at concessional rates.

Duration of Booking

Ordinarily a person will be allowed to stay for three days. However, under special circumstances he/she may be permitted to stay for a maximum period of ten days depending on the purpose and nature of his/her stay.

Charges

The room rent for the stay in the Guest House will be as follows:

Catering

  • Meals (other than bed tea and breakfast) will be served on advance order during the following hours :\
    • Bed Tea : 6.30 a.m. to 7.00 a.m.
    • Breakfast : 7.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m.
    • Lunch : 12.30 p.m. to 2.00 p.m.
    • Evening Tea : 5.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.
    • Dinner : 7.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.
    • All meals except bed tea will normally be served in the dining hall.
    • Catering from outside for parties shall not be permitted.
    • One bed tea per day will be served to all guests staying in the Guest House without additional charge. Any additional breakfast and bed tea will be charged separately.
    • Catering arrangements are available for limited persons for lunch and dinner for official parties as per prescribed rates. The semi-official get-together of the offices / Departments / Faculty members can also be hosted in the Guest House with sufficient prior booking.
  • The Guest will make an entry in the register kept at the reception/counter soon after arrival and again before leaving the Guest House.
  • All payments shall be against the official receipt and before the guest leaves the guest-house.
  • Guests should ensure the return of Linen, blanket, Mosquito Repellant Machine, TV-Remote with Batteries etc. that are given at the time of check-in.
  • The Vice-Chancellor may exempt any person from payment of lodging and/or boarding charges and may declare any person as a University Guest.
  • Person using the University Guest House will make good the damage caused by them to the building or furniture or fixtures or any other property of the University during their stay.
  • The Guest may check in at any time. However, for the purpose of accounting a day will mean 24 hours from the time of occupation. Fraction of a day will be counted as full day.
  • A person suffering from infectious or a contagious disease shall not be allowed to stay in the Guest House. Accommodation in the Guest House cannot be claimed as a matter of right.
  • The University shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to person or the property of any occupant during his/her stay in the Guest House.
  • Allotment of accommodation in the Guest House shall not confer on the allottees any right of tenancy of the premises and the University shall have the right to get the rooms vacated at any time without giving any notice or any assigning any reason in case of unauthorized stay/over stay.
  • Since the University Guest House caters to the entire University, there is a great deal of pressure on it for accommodation. In order to provide effective service to the entire University fraternity, the following policy will be followed. Kindly make a note of the booking procedure in order to avoid any inconvenience:
    • Bookings will be made under the two categories-official and non-official.
    • Official booking will be given preference.
    • Booking will be made purely on first come first served basis. So, earlier request or official booking will get preference.
    • Kindly route all bookings directly to the Incharge, University Guest House. Please ask for confirmation of booking in case no confirmation is received.
  • The Guest House will be under the administrative control of the Incharge as authorized by the Vice-Chancellor.
  • The Vice-Chancellor may grant exemption from the operation of any of the above rules in exceptional cases on merit.
  • The decision of the Vice-Chancellor shall be final in regard to the interpretation of these rules.
  • The rules may be amended with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor.
