Centralized System for Admission in Post Graduate Programmes 2022-23
1 Important Instructions
- 1.1 The instructions related to the online admissions given here are as per the Acts, Ordinances, Rules & Regulations of the University.
- 1.2 Gap Certificate: If there is gap in taking admission after graduation/qualifying examination, then a certificate by the Notary on Rs. 10.00 Stamp paper has to be submitted at the time of admission.
- 1.3 If you want benefit of reservation or zero fees, then give the details of the related certificates during the filling of the Online Application Form. No candidate will get the permission for any change in weightage or reservation after the form is submitted.
- 1.4 The detailed information of the admission procedure will be displayed on the University website. Candidates are advised to check the University website regularly for updates.
- 1.5After declaration of the merit list a copy of the list will be published on the University website. The candidate himself / herself will find his / her merit number from the merit list. The merit list will not be published in the newspaper.
- 1.6The benefit of reservation will be permissible only to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes candidates originally belonging to Uttar Pradesh. Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes candidates of other states will be treated as general category.
- 1.7 The reservation shall be given as permissible under the Uttar Pradesh Government / University Rules.
- 1.8 Caste and Income Certificates shall be verified on respective Government website.
- 1.9 All fees deposited at the time of registration will not be refunded under any circumstances.
- 1.10 As directed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court, action will be taken against the students who are indulged in incidence like ragging during studentship.
- 1.11Those candidates who have been expelled from any University/College/Institution or convicted guilty under Indian Penal Code are not eligible to apply for any course in the University of Lucknow.
2Eligibility and Guidelines for Admission
- Those candidates who have been expelled from any University/College/Institution or convicted guilty under Indian Penal Code are not eligible to apply for any course in the University of Lucknow.
- 2.1 A candidate will be eligible for Admission to Postgraduate Courses if he/she has completed B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. with 10+2+3 or equivalent system from any University recognized by University Grants Commission.

2.1.1 Faculty of Arts
- Subject wise eligibility details are given in clause 4.1 of these guidelines which would be applicable with the following rules (Except Mathematics and Statistics).
- 2.1.1.1In case the candidate seeks admission in the subject, which he/she has studied in the all three years of graduation the eligibility will be minimum 45% of marks.
- 2.1.1.2In case the candidate seeks admission in the subject, which he/she has studied in the first two years of graduation but not in the final year, the eligibility will be minimum 55% of marks
- 2.1.1.3In case the candidate seeks admission in the subject which he/she has not studied in any year of graduation, eligibility will be minimum 60% of marks.
- 2.1.1.4In case the eligibility in the subject is “Any Graduate” the candidate has to obtain minimum 50% of marks in graduation. This applies to subjects which are not available in University of Lucknow at graduation level.

- 2.1.6 The SC and ST candidates will be allowed an exemption of 5% in the eligibility percentages.
- 2.1.7 In Mathematics, Statistics, Biostatistics Anthropology and Forensic Science, Graduate of the Faculty of Arts will be awarded M.A. degree and the Graduates of the Faculty of Science would be awarded M.Sc. degree.
- 2.2 A candidate cannot pursue two Postgraduate Degree Courses simultaneously.
- 2.3 A candidate who has already completed Postgraduate course in one subject will not be eligible for the second Postgraduate course except professional course.
- 2.4 Final Merit list shall be available in the concerned Departments and same will be available on the University website.
- 2.5University reserves the right to cancel any admission at any stage.
- 2.6 In case of any matter relating to the Postgraduate Admissions, the decision of the Vice-Chancellor/Admission Commiee, Lucknow University shall be final and binding.
- 2.7 All the legal matters pertaining to the Postgraduate Admissions shall be subject to the Lucknow Jurisdiction only.
- 2.8If the number of applications for a SELF FINANCING COURSE is less than 60% of the number of seats, the admission to that programme will not be done for this academic year. In this situation the Application Fee will not be refunded.
- 2.9 Candidates who are appearing in the final year examination of graduation in 2022 can apply for admission but they have to fulfill all eligibility conditions on the day of counselling.
- 2.10In the Faculties of Arts, Commerce, Law, Science and Fine Arts, Yoga & Alternate Medical & Institute admission to Post Graduate courses for the Session 2022-23 shall be admitted on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination conducted for this purpose. Details are given in section 5 of the PG admission guidelines. Entrance test will not be in those subjects in which the number of applications are less than the number of seats. Admissions in such subjects will be given on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
- 2.11.1If two or more candidates have secured equal marks/rank in the merit Index of entrance test, then the merit for admission will be determined as follows:-
- 2.11.1.1If the marks secured in the entrance examination are same in such cases first preference will be given to the candidate who secures higher percentage of marks graduation or equivalent examination.
- 2.11.1.2If the marks secured in the entrance examination and graduation are same in such cases first preference will be given to the candidate who secures higher percentage of marks at class 10+2 or equivalent examination.
- 2.11.1.3If the marks secured in the class 12 or equivalent examination are also same in such cases first preference will be given to the candidate who secures higher percentage of marks at High School or equivalent examination.
- 2.11.1.4If the marks obtained at the High School or equivalent examination are also same, then in that case the older candidate will be given preference.
- 2.12Candidate shall be entitled to weightage (if any) on the merit index.

3.1 Weightage

3.2 Reservation
All reservations would be given as per State Government policies and University guidelines.

3.2.1.3.1 Applicants of OBC (Non Creamy Layer) category would require the following certificates at the time of counseling.
- • OBC Certificate issued on or after July 1, 2019. The OBC (Non Creamy layer) certificate issued before July 1, 2019, will not be considered.
- 3.2.1.3.2 *The Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class (Non Creamy layer) candidates originally belonging to Uttar Pradesh will be given the benefit of reservation. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class (Non Creamy layer) candidates of other States will be treated as general.

3.4 The weightage will be given according to the rules of University to the players of the following categories:
3.4.1Such players who have taken part in the inter-regional competitions on behalf of regional team after being selected at the district level in the last two years (the original certificates given by the DIOS/RIOS/DDO will be acceptable).
Or
3.4.2 Such players who have represented Uttar Pradesh in National or Inter-State competitions in last two years and the competitions have been organized by State Sports organizations recognized by the authorities. The certificates given by the organizers or Govt. organizations of these competitions will be acceptable
3.4.3 Note: 1. Only those players are eligible who have taken part in such sports competitions for which facility is available in Lucknow University and which are recognized by Association of Indian University (AIU) (Sports Department), New Delhi or National institutions.
3.4.4 Note 2. For getting sports and handicapped weightage/ reservation, candidate will have to be present before the sports/medical board. The candidate, who does not appear before these boards, will not be provided the sports and handicapped weightage/ reservation for admission and his/her admission form will be considered as of general category. Information in this regard will be given only on University website.
3.5 Reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)
3.5.1 Applicants of the General category who want to claim the benefit of the EWS reservation have to upload the following documents during filling of online application forms

4.10Important Instructions for Self Finance Courses
- In PG (Self Finance) courses if the Sixty percent (60%) of the total number of seats are not filled, such PG (SF) courses shall not continue.
- Programme structure and Programme module of all Post Graduate programmes may change as per the guidelines of Uttar Pradesh Higher Education department and University authorities in the session 2022-23.
5 Entrance Examination Pattern
5.1For all PG Programmes except LL.M. and MVA
- 5.1.1 The entrance test will comprise of 100 objective type questions to be answered in 90 minutes.
5.1.2 For LL.B. (Three Year) Programme

8Requirements for Form Submission
- Valid Email ID
- Aadhaar No.
- Active Mobile Number
- Mobile number should be with the applicant at the time of form filling
- Login Credentials (Registration No and Password) will be sent on this registered Mobile No. & Email ID.
- Alternate Mobile Number (Preferably of parents)
- Scanned Photo in JPEG format (Maximum upload size is 50 KB only)

- It is the sole responsibility of the student to go through the Guidelines and check his/her eligibility at the time of application submission. We are not verifying the eligibility at the time of application submission. The eligibility will be verified by the University at the time of Counselling/Admission.

Application Fee in (INR) General and OBC Rs. 1000.00 SC and ST Rs. 500.00 - EWS Certificate
- Applicants who want to avail the benefit of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) seats have to choose Yes on the personal information page. The certificate for this must be uploaded on the page where there is an option for uploading photo and signature. They would be needing the following certificates at the time of counseling.
- EWS certificate issued by the appropriate authority.
- Caste Certificate
- The Caste Certificate Number issued by the competent authority will have to be entered for availing the benefit of reservation for OBC, SC and ST applicants. Validity of these certificates will be verified from the Government website. (The Certificate for this must be uploaded on tha page where there is an option for uploading photo and signature)
- Applicants of OBC (Non Creamy Layer) category would require the following certificates at the time of counseling
- OBC Certificate issued on or after July 1, 2019
- The OBC Non Creamy layer certificate issued before July 1, 2019 will not be considered.
- The Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class candidates originally belonging to Uttar Pradesh will be given the benefit of reservation. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class candidates of other States will be treated as general.
- Income Certificate
- Applicants will have to enter the number of Income Certificate at the time of filling of the form.
- The Income certificate has to be issued on or after January 1, 2022 and will be verified through the Government website.
- Certificates whose details are not available on this website will not be entertained.
- The applicants who do not have a valid income certificate issued by competent authority will not be given benefit of zero fees at the time of admission.
9Form Filling
- During the form filling process, the applicant can make the entries and save the information.
- If the applicant is unable to fill the form in one sitting or somehow the process is interrupted there is no need to register again. They can login using the credentials sent on registered Mobile No. & Email ID and continue the process.
- Applicants are advised to check all the data they have entered before submitting the application fee. If there is some error they can edit it or start the entire process again. Once they have submitted the application fee the data submitted in the registration page cannot be edited under any circumstance.
- Step 1 Registration
- Applicants have to fill the relevant details in the form. These fields cannot be edited later.
- Applicants will receive their login details on this entered Mobile No. & Email ID
- Step 2 Personal Details
- Applicants will have to enter their personal details
- Step 3 Educational Qualifications
- Applicants will have to fill their educational qualifications.
- Enter the marks of all the subjects mentioned in the marksheets (if result has been declared).
- Those applicants who have appeared for their UG examinaon in 2022 have to fill in the name of the examinaon board and roll number now. All such applicants have to login and fill their marks obtained in the UG examinaon or equivalent exam before appearing for counseling.
- Step 4 Upload Photo and Signature
- Applicants will have to upload their photo and scanned signature.
- Step 5 Preview
- Applicants can preview all the entries made at this point. If there is some error they can edit it or start the entire process again. Once they have submitted the application fee the data submitted in the registration page cannot be edited under any circumstances
- Step 6 Application Fee
- If all the entries in the application form are correct the applicant can submit the form and proceed for payment of the application fees.
- Form fees can be submitted by any of the following ways
- Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking
- Step 7 Print Application Form
- Applicants can print their submitted application form and fee receipt to complete the application process.
- Applicants have to retain a printout of their application form which will be needed later on.
- Applicants do not have to send the print out of the application form to the University.

Data Editing
- Restricted data can be edited by the candidate by logging into the admission portal using the credentials sent to their registered Email ID & Mobile No.
- In case the candidate forgets his/her password, he/she can regenerate their password by clicking on the Forgot Password? link and entering their Registration Number. The new login details will be sent to their registered Mobile Number & Email ID.’
- The submitted data will be locked after the last date of submission. Till the last date of submission, applicant can make changes in certain fields like Date of Birth, Gender, Address, etc. Applicant’s Name, Father’s Name and Mother’s Name cannot be edited. Corrections in the category opted will be allowed only for General and OBC applicants.
- Restricted data can be edited by the candidate by logging into the admission portal using the credentials sent to their registered Email ID & Mobile No.
Important Note
- In case the payment is not updated immediately, applicants are advised to wait for at least 72 hours before contacting the technical helpline 0522-4150500 during working hours. They are also advised not to make multiple payments. All payments that are successful on the console will get updated automatically. They should note that no late fee or fine would be imposed on them.
- Those applicants who are appearing in their qualifying examination in 2022 have to fill in the name of the examination board. All such applicants have to login and fill their marks obtained in the qualifying examination before appearing for counseling.
