Presently known as TILAK GIRLS HALL, the hall was earlier started as BOYS HALL of University of Lucknow and named after Lokmanya Bal Ganga Dhar Tilak. It is situated in the main university campus. The hall is the residence for undergraduate and postgraduate girl students since 2004.

The hall is aesthetically designed with 3 blocks and a total of 140 rooms on double and triple occupancy with a capacity of 270 students. The common room has a television and music system. Apart from these, a hygienically maintained dining hall is there for the girls to enjoy their meals. Also, canteen services are provided within the campus.

It is equipped with facilities like water purifier and water coolers along with washing machines, geysers and induction cooker in each block. First aid facility is provided and medicines of everyday need are readily available. The hall also provides opportunities for various indoor and outdoor games.  The indoor games include table tennis, carom and chess while the outdoor games include volley ball and badminton. The library is one of the important facilities frequently used by students. In addition to this 6 different newspapers are daily provided at 3 newspaper stands in each block.

Within the hall, life is full of entertainment besides a quiet and calm atmosphere for academics. Festivals are celebrated in hall ensuring active participation of the girls to inculcate in them a pride in their cultural heritage and a feeling of unity in diversity. Special food arrangements are made during festivals to ensure home like environment. In addition to this, the large lawns and a temple in the midst of the hall provides immense peace and tranquility. Also strict discipline is followed in the hall with regards to the timings and other code of conduct.
