Kailash Hall

University of Lucknow is one of the oldest government institutions of higher education in India. Founded in 1867 the university came into its official existence on December 11th 1920 and is currently celebrating its centenary year. The University also holds a well-established hall of residence for its students and one of its known residences is Kailash Girl's Hall. Kailash girl's hall was originally housed in the 'Lok Nirman Vibhag Bungalow' and Rs 20,000/- was granted by the government to the University for its total take over. This hall is named after Mrs. Kailash Srivastava (Member of Rajya Vidhan Sabha) wife of Sir Jwala Prasad (Former Education Minister), who by his special contribution and tireless efforts got the approval of grant for the transfer of property from Lok Nirman Vibhag to the University.
Kailash Girls Hall, one of the oldest and remarkable halls of University of Lucknow, has a capacity of approximately 450 girls. It has seven blocks, with single, double and triple seat accommodation.
