Birbal Sahni Hall for boys was inaugurated in the year 1973 by Prime Minister of India, Late Smt Indira Gandhi. The hall has been named after the renowned Palaeobotanist who established the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeobotany (now Palaeosciences) and was also the first head of the Department of Botany which will complete its hundred years in 2021.
The hall has 80 single occupancy rooms which are well furnished. The hall is allotted to student pursuing research. The hall has two well maintained lawns and a large playground with a volley ball court. A mess providing meals to the boys is situated across the hostel. It has all facilities for pure drinking water, washing machines, geysers etc. A recreation room with TV and indoor games are available. The hostel has a reading room with daily supply of newspapers.
